Introduction to IKAR Retractable Type Fall Arresters

IKAR products are sold throughout the world.  IKAR retractable type fall arresters are manufactured and tested in accordance with EN360:2002, they are produced for maximum durability, using outstanding technology for the demanding conditions of the workplace.  All of the components important for the device functioning are made from rustproof material, aluminium or stainless steel and shockproof plastic.  This sturdy method of construction ensure that IKAR fall arrest devices are always reliable in use and have low maintenance requirements.

The IKAR retractable type fall arresters function in a similar way to a car seat belt.  A re-coiling main spring keeps the galvanised steel cable or polyamide webbing with a dyneema core lifeline (depending on the model) in light tension, allowing it to respond immediately in the event of a fall, without a slack lifeline.

If the extraction speed of the lifeline exceeds 0.5m/sec, one of the catches which activate the brake system will lock into place as a result of centrifugal forces in the rotating drum.  The arrest force absorption required for the retractable type fall arresters is achieved via a new type of brake system (disk brake) which can only be set from the inside.

IKAR retractable type fall arresters can be used in a number of differing industry sectors involving a potential fall hazard.  We aim to provide solutions for safety relevant and problematic work areas.

As product standards develop, IKAR also continue to develop their product range to ensure full compliance with the latest version of the relevant standards and at the same time ensure the maximum safety of the user.

IKAR’s equipment is tested not only to meet with the requirements of the product standard, but also the rigors of the workplace, to help customers ensure the safety of their employees when working at height.  Documented application fall tests can show this, you can watch some of our edge test footage here.
Sturdy low-maintenance fall arrest devices with webbing or galvanised steel rope lifeline.  Lightweight plastic or aluminium housing with, dependent of the model, either a rotational attachment eye (to prevent the webbing or rope from twisting), or a steel carry handle.
